Kick off the Year by Giving Back

Each year, Decca participates in Second Harvest’s volunteer and donation programs. In 2018 we gathered and donated 325 pounds of food through our food drive. We also volunteered at their facility, to sort 6,600 pounds of broccoli for families in need in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.

This year, in just 2 hours the Decca team helped sort a record-setting 12,500 pounds of oranges which will be distributed to over a quarter of a million people in our community.

In 2018 volunteers donated more than 314,000 hours to Second Harvest Food Bank, valued at more than $7.2 million, the equivalent of 151 full-time employees. Through their volunteer program, they were able to reduce operational costs and put more money into making sure those in need have access to nutritious food.

We hope to inspire our readers to think about what can be done with just a few hours of time to make an impact. Everyone is busy, but together we can make a difference.

Here are a few snapshots from our super sort day.
